PM Hun Sen Sends Condolences to Former Japanese Ambassador’s Wife

PHNOM PENH:​ Prime Minister Hun Sen sent a letter addressed to Madam Sumiko Imagawa, on Saturday, 8 January, expressing his condolences for the passing of her husband, the former Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, Mr. Yukio Imagawa.

The Prime Minister wrote saying he and his wife were very saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Yukio Imagawa. He further extended his condolences to Madam Imagawa and all of her family, saying their thoughts and prayers are with them in this moment of grief.

Prime Minister Hun Sen also wrote in the letter that Ambassador Yukio Imagawa “has been a true friend of Cambodia and was highly respected and loved in Cambodia.” The Prime Minister wrote that Mr. Imagawa “dedicated 39 years of his life working to promote cordial ties between Japan and Cambodia and has contributed significantly to peace, stability, and socio-economic progress in Cambodia”.
